Who we are |
Christian Worship Center’s ministry values are a set of convictions that describe what we stand for and what is important to us as a church. Although the Word of God is unchangeable, God establishes each local church with a unique mission and a set of values. Our values serve as an internal compass directing every ministry, decision, and priority of Christian Worship Center. The following set of values describes what we believe is God’s heart for Christian Worship Center. To Bring Glory to GodOur highest calling in life is to bring glory to God in everything we do. “Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” I Corinthians 10:31. Our Sunday Morning Service is designed for the sole purpose of glorifying God through our worship, the teaching of His word, fellowship, giving and prayers. To Be Biblical in all that we doWe view the Word of God (the Bible) as the authoritative guide for living. What the Bible teaches takes precedence over church history, human opinions, and man’s traditions. To Be Spirit Led– God DependantWe do not want to do the work of God without the power of His Spirit or in our own strength. We realize that, “Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” Psalms 127:1. Therefore we will consistently seek the Lord for His strength and favor to do what we cannot do on our own. We will seek to do His will and not our own.To be Effective and FruitfulWe believe that God would have us do those things that would be the most effective and fruitful for the Kingdom of God. He would also have us do them with excellence, as we should give Him our very best. To do His work shoddy or with indifference would be dishonoring of the Lord.People over MinistryGod’s heart is towards people, it is His desire to save, heal, and deliver all people. Every person matters to God; He created them and wants them to know and to be committed to Him. We cannot forget why we are here, God wants us to reach people and help them grow in Him.Walking in LoveJesus said that we would be known by our love for one another. Scripture clearly speaks of this issue over and over again. Compassion is something that must be nurtured in the hearts of God’s people. Compassion for the hurting, compassion for the lost, compassion for the sinner. Nothing should be done if it cannot be done with compassion.Relationships and Service to Others are more important than Personal AgendasMany times people put their personal agenda above everything else. As a Christian church we are called to something much higher. A personal relationship with others is more important to us than having our way. Our attitude should be one of a servant that values people above things. It should not be that of a spoiled child who always has to have their way.HumilityWe believe what David said in Psalms 34:18, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” All ministries should be done with an attitude of humility. For we know that, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5. GenerosityGiving may be one of the most tangible expressions of our faith. Believers are encouraged to give generously and sacrificially to the ministry of Christian Worship Center. We demonstrate our commitment to God by tithing and giving faithfully. All Believers have a MinistryWe believe that those who are involved in ministry are the ones that are growing the most in their personal relationship with God. Ministry is also an expression of our commitment to God and our desire to serve Him. |
